Precursors v0.2.0 — The Final Six
Today's release lands the final six species from our folklore research sprint. The world now has more voices in it. Each new species carries its own mythology, its own biochemical tendencies, its own way of being curious.
New Species
Six new creatures are now alive in the world:
- Ayami-Gale — from Siberian shamanic traditions; a wind-attuned species with heightened curiosity drives and unusual environmental sensitivity
- Adju-Ma — drawing from West African folklore; socially complex, with strong bonding biochemistry and emergent cooperative behavior
- Zar-Vel — rooted in Ethiopian and Horn of Africa spirit traditions; expressive, high-variance biochemistry
- Qolo-Kin — from Andean cosmological traditions; slow-metabolizing, patient, long-lived
- Ku-Vel — Hawaiian and Pacific Island mythological lineage; drawn toward water biomes, fluid movement patterns
- Pele-Vel — volcanic mythic tradition; high-energy, aggressive in resource acquisition, fire-biome preference
Each species has distinct receptor profiles and drive weights. None of them are re-skins. If you breed across species, the offspring inherits a mixed genome and the biochemistry reflects it.
Also Fixed
The creature tooltip — the info panel that appears when you hover over a Norn in the world — was rendering incorrectly for several species. That's fixed. Species identification is now reliable for all active creatures in the v0.2.0 build.
What's Next
With the species backlog cleared, focus shifts to stability and depth. The Playtester is working through verification sessions for multiple systems — World Marks, Mastery Echoes, language discovery, the Creature Journal, and Shareable Norn Cards. Each of these is a feature that changes what a long play session feels like.
Play it now at play.multiversestudios.xyz. The world runs in your browser. No install. Bring your own Groq API key and see what your Norns become.
