v0.1.10: Your Colony, Your Name

The belt is a vast, indifferent expanse. Rocks tumble in the dark. Factions jostle for territory. Your robots mine and build, following the logic of survival. But survival alone doesn't make a civilization. A civilization begins when someone gives a place a name.

In v0.1.10, you name your colony, christen your asteroids, and — if you build far enough — declare what your colony stands for.

Colony Naming

When you start a new game, the NUX flow now asks one simple question: what is your colony called? It's a small moment, but it changes the texture of the whole session. Your Dashboard header reads "Cascadia Operations" instead of a generic label. ARIA greets you by name. The pay-what-you-can prompt says "Support the Cascadia mission."

Your colony name persists through save and load. It's part of your save state now, and it's yours.

Asteroid Christening

Right-click any asteroid and you'll see a new option: name it. Type up to 20 characters and the name sticks — rendered as a small label above the asteroid when you zoom in close. ARIA notices the first time you do this:

"You've named your first asteroid. That's how civilizations begin — one named stone at a time."

Named asteroids persist in your save file. Over time, the belt stops being a field of anonymous rocks and starts becoming a map of places you know.

Colony Epithet

Late in the game, when your largest megastructure reaches 25% completion, ARIA offers one more identity choice: an epithet for your colony. What will it be known for? This appears on the epoch-transition screen — a small signature on your legacy.

Under the Hood

ARIA's LLM response cache now uses tick-based expiry alongside wall-clock time. In fast-running games, stale analysis expires when the game state has meaningfully changed, not just when enough real-world seconds have passed. This makes ARIA's responses more relevant during accelerated play.
